Simon was the host that made my day. I celebrated my birthday there, everything was in proper L, service was fast . Simon complimented my birthday with a drink to all my guests and myself . Wonderful celebration. PS: don’t forget their piece by age salmon sashimi give away if you celebrate your birthday there with a bottle of wine, champagne or sake.

I’ve been a regular patron of Tanuki since they opened their NDC outlet in Bugis many years ago, have gone here countless times and they’ve never disappointed me. Love the fresh sashimi, wide selection of rice bowls, and even the coffee! The beef don is my go-to comfort food, with perfectly seared, tender beef slices and topped with a lovely runny onsen egg. it’s quite luxurious when topped with foie gras yet the restaurant has kept the price affordable. The mentaiko salmon has my heart as well as all their chirashi bowls. I enjoyed their $3 oyster promotion as well, and the sushi rolls are good for sharing. They’ve sadly closed a few of their outlets recently, with this orchard central outlet left standing that has decent $12.90 lunch promos. It’s a rather obscure location on the fourth floor, but I like its warm and inviting ambience. Really hope that this restaurant can continue to operate in the years to come.

got a 1 for 1 deal so each salmon kaisen (u.p. $19.90++) bowl came up to $11~including gst and service charge, which is really damn good. you get a bunch of salmon, all raw but prepared differently! my favourite was the fatty salmon and the cubed spicy salmon! i think this is my favourtie chirashi bowl ever
